21:00 The Lion & The Bear

Formed by AVADE members Ross Meintjes (vocals/guitar) and Ruben Thomas (bass/percussion/backing vocals) at the tail end of 2017, The Lion & The Bear is an acoustic duo whose sole purpose is to get the party going. The guys have maintained the energy of AVADE, but with the benefit of the more accessible acoustic format. The Lion & The Bear perform a variety of covers in their own unique style, as well as doses of original material. Blues/pop/funk/rock are the genres in which this duo thrives. 20:00 Matt Gardiner

Matt is a young musician born and bred in Pietermaritzburg – but already deeply embedded in local music. It has always been a dream of his to turn his passion for music into his career. He began playing guitar towards the end of his junior school years when he watched his father playing, and was eager to learn. He began his music career by partaking in musical productions at his school, Maritzburg College. He moved on to opening for the likes of Matthew Mole, Prime Circle, Desmond and the Tutus, Just Jinjer, Majozi and Plush. He describes his music as Indie Folk with a slight Rock undertone, with a few of his influences being Mumford and Sons, Matthew Mole and John Mayer.

    19h00 The Reid Family

The Reid Family Band has been years in the making, jamming together since the kids started arriving. Vincent Reid had an interest in music from young age and is mainly self-taught. He plays keyboards, guitar and recently, tin whistle. Rhiannon who comes from the school of Kéch Sánchez, has honed her skills on guitar and sings lead vocals. Younger brother Aidan showed musical abilities from a very young age, also sings amazing lead vocals and harmonies. Tess (Teresa Klusik Reid) organises the bookings and joins in on vocals and percussion, when possible. The Reid Family Band enjoys many different genres of music but are particularly influenced by Irish, Folk and Pop music.
